Vermont Student Assistance Corporation
VSAC provides need-based state grants (aid that is not repaid) to eligible students in three categories: full-time undergraduate and certain medical and veterinary students, part-time students taking fewer than 12 credits per semester, and students pursuing a non-degree course of study either as a way to measure interest in postsecondary study or to qualify for higher education or employment. In addition, VSAC helps to administer a variety of government and private scholarships available to Vermonters and provides assistance to residents searching for scholarships. Students interested in pursuing scholarship opportunities should consult VSAC's "Scholarships" publication and may obtain assistance from staff in person or on the telephone. Scholarship search software is available for use in the VSAC Resource Center. VSAC also runs a summer employment program that matches eligible students with summer jobs in the public and nonprofit sectors. |
