University of Vermont

"All professors. teach introductory classes. A UVM student doesn't feel like a number, but we're a university large enough to allow investigation and exploration." —Denise Youngblood, Associate Professor of History

The University of Vermont—or UVM, as we are known from our Latin name, Universitas Viridis Montis—offers you the beauty and serenity of a Vermont location and the extensive academic resources of a comprehensive university. More than 2,200 undergraduate courses are offered in fields ranging from the liberal arts to professional and pre-professional training. In all, over 90 majors and programs are represented at UVM. Perhaps most important to your education, ninety-six percent of our classes are taught by full-time professors, all accomplished scholars and, in many cases, pioneers in their fields.
