Southern Vermont College
The College's financial aid structure ensures accessibility to those students with extra needs who are serious about bettering their lives through higher education. Over 75 percent of Southern Vermont College students receive some type of federal and/or institutional financial aid. Last year, the average aid package awarded to a first year students was $12,000. SVC participates in a variety of federal, state, and local financial aid programs and scholarship funds. To apply, students must file the Free Application for Federal Financial Aid (FAFSA) and the Southern Vermont College financial aid form. Students may also be eligible for renewable merit scholarships and leadership scholarships, ranging from $1,000 to $5,000 per year. College scholarships are awarded to those eligible applicants whose completed application has been received by March 1 for the fall semester. All other financial aid and College grants are awarded using a priority deadline of May 1; applications received after that date will be considered on a funds-available basis. |
