Southern Vermont College
A significant part of attending college is the opportunity to get involved in activities of interest and make new friends. At Southern Vermont College, students are encouraged to develop a strong sense of community by participating in one or more of the many campus activities, clubs, and organizations. The College calendar is filled each semester with a variety of cultural, recreational, and social events to appeal to the entire campus community. Many social activities are sponsored by the Student Government Association and include concerts, ski trips, lecture series, and intramural athletics. Fifteen clubs and organizations including Cheerleading, Rugby, Mountain Press Newspaper, and Everyone's Earth Nature Club, to name a few, coupled with our eleven NCAA III intercollegiate athletic teams, keep students active both on- and off-campus. Students participate in community activities and programs including volunteering at the rescue squad, Big Brother/Big Sister, and the American Red Cross. The town of Bennington, with a population of 15,000, welcomes students and offers them opportunities for employment and internships. |
