Southern Vermont College

"The student/faculty ratio of 11:1 enables students to express their ideas, give feedback, and grow intellectually and socially within a supportive and creative environment."

Southern Vermont College, a small, private college with just over 500 students, is located on 371 acres in the southwest corner of the state. There are no lecture halls at SVC, but what you will find is a personal learning environment with an average class size of 17 students. A strong foundation in the liberal arts, a large selection of educational and student programs, reasonable tuition costs, small classes, a beautiful campus, and a diverse student body, are our strengths. We invite you to join us.

The College looks for students who are leaders and want to participate in the numerous extracurricular events offered on campus. Southern Vermont College students can be seen volunteering with the Community Service Club, racing down the slopes with the Ski/Snowboarding Club, and protecting our treasured Vermont environment through the Everyone's Earth environmental club. Our NCAA Division III student-athletes play eleven intercollegiate sports including basketball, soccer, cross-country, outdoor track and field, baseball, softball, and women's volleyball. Intramural athletics provides another popular pastime for students who like the challenge of ice hockey, rugby, or flag football. All in all, this approach to life in our college community challenges minds and creates leaders.
