Saint Michael's College

Academics

Ranked among the 15 finest master’s universities in the North by U.S. News & World Report for 16 consecutive years, Saint Michael’s offers 29 majors in the traditional arts and sciences, and contemporary and pre-professional fields of study, all grounded in a strong liberal arts core.

Through small classes, strong advising relationships, and an emphasis on faculty-student research and faculty involvement in campus life, students at Saint Michael’s can’t help but become engaged in a rigorous learning environment that transcends the boundaries of traditional classrooms and class meetings.

For Saint Michael’s 150 full-time faculty, teaching undergraduates is always the first priority. With a student-faculty ratio of just 12:1, students are ensured personal attention from professors both in class (lively First-Year Seminars set the interactive tone) and out of class; sharing talks and meals on campus and in their homes; wrestling with research questions or doing community service projects.
