Admissions Criteria
Sterling’s programs are designed for those who are academically prepared for college studies, eager to embrace the challenges of community life, and able to participate in all aspects of the curriculum.

The Admissions Committee evaluates each applicant individually and assesses a range of academic and personal information. Academic preparation and achievement play an important role. The Admissions Committee looks most favorably upon applicants who express enthusiasm for experiential learning, but also display a fair amount of intellectual curiosity. An admissions interview is highly recommended.

Early Action Admission
High school seniors who wish to receive an early response to their application may apply early (after completion of the junior year, but prior to December 15) under our Early Action plan. A completed application must be on file on or before December 15. Early Action applicants will be notified of a decision on or before January 15. Students not accepted under Early Action will be reviewed under regular admission.

Regular Admission
Any applicant not applying under our Early Action plan will be reviewed on a rolling admission basis after December 15. We recommend students submit their application before March 1 for enrollment in the fall and before January 1 for enrollment in the spring.

To apply for admission, students should submit a completed application form with $35 fee, two essays, two letter of recommendation, and a high school transcript or the equivalent. Standardized testing, such as the SAT and ACT, is optional. Transfer students should also submit college transcripts.
