College of St. Joseph

Location/Facilities

CSJ’s 90-acre, open and wooded campus is on the edge of a charming city in the heart of the Green Mountains and the best ski area in New England. Rutland is a moderate-sized Vermont city with a friendly, small-town atmosphere. Our campus is minutes from Rutland's shops, restaurants, and historic district with opportunities for shopping, social and cultural activities, and entertainment. The college is centrally located where the city and country meet thereby offering the best of both worlds and enriching life of residents on campus.

The campus is comprised of five main buildings that support academics, student services, athletics, and general administration.

St. Joseph HallSt. Joseph Hall, CSJ’s central educational building, houses classrooms and art studios, the Giorgetti Library, the academic computing center, a bookstore, administration and faculty offices, and centers for student academic support services, career counseling, and personal growth counseling.

Tuttle HallTuttle Hall, the CSJ student center, is the focal point of extracurricular activity housing student services and admissions offices, campus ministry, St. Joseph, the Provider Chapel, a 215 seat theatre, and a student lounge and snack bar.

Athletic CenterThe CSJ Athletic Center provides a 1000 seat gymnasium use to support basketball and volleyball programs as well as off-season practice for other sports. The center also contains a fitness room equipped with free weights, numerous nautilus stations, and other equipment; a dance and aerobics studio; two racquetball courts; and locker rooms for varsity teams and general college use.

dormTo accommodate residential students CSJ has two suite-style residences, Medaille Hall and Roncalli Hall. Each bedroom is wired for internet, cable TV, and telephone service. The college provides free internet service to all residents. In addition, Roncalli Hall houses the college dining room and cafeteria which serves meals throughout the academic year.
