Castleton State College
More than 40 clubs and organizations provide a wide variety of student activities that include club sports, an FM radio station, the student newspaper, and an active outing club. Other clubs relate to college majors and future careers; still others serve the college or local community. There are 20 NCAA division III varsity sports. A majority of Castleton's students are involved in the intramural and recreational sports program. Many students are skiers and snowboarders. There are ten residence halls which together accommodate nearly 1,000 students. Off-campus housing can be found in the Castleton, Fair Haven, Lake Bomoseen, and Rutland areas. The campus is 12 miles west of Rutland, one of Vermont's largest cities. Nearby Killington and Pico ski areas, Lake Bomoseen, and the Green Mountains provide excellent recreational opportunities and an exceptional living and learning environment. |
